What you hear, or are about to hear, Just a Quickie, was written and recorded by Heather Syren, a musician from Lincoln, Nebraska. Growing up in Nebraska, since there isn't a whole lot to do, she was exposed to many small bands and garage bands. One day Syren decided that this was what she wanted to do. Then again maybe not, then again maybe. Back and forth until we are here. Since acoustic required the least equipment, (or so it seemed) that's what she went with. With influences as diverse as Tom Waits to American Music Club to TOOL, genre was a difficult category to choose. Syren decided to not decide. Burning Rubbish, due to be released in early February, is a release of all the old music so Syren can let new ideas flow. "I think I have writer's block because I feel the need to hold on to all the old songs from High School. None have been recorded by anyone except for me, in my mind. Burning Rubbish is exactly that, burning all the old rubbish in the back of my mind." -Syren Expecting to release her first solo album in mid summer, Syren is amidst a flurry of tasks to complete. One of which is this website. We've never done this before, so we could use all the help we can get, if it's honest constructive criticism. If you have problems reading text, viewing photos, or if you can't hear the short song (which, by the way, is a rough copy), just e-mail us at syren_song@hotmail.com. Also, if you have any suggestions on linking us to another site, the info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
